Tuesday Taggers Step out of your comfort zone

Hi Guys

I am a really bad blogger and haven't posted for a while.  The only excuse I have is that I have been getting some classes together that are coming up soon.  More about those later.

Back to Tuesday Taggers.  Our lovely teamie Sally has challenged us to work out of our comfort zone, so not knowing what to do I consulted my fellow teamies and Michelle suggested that I work with something other than paper.  So I have done just that with the exception of one piece and that was the book page.

I started with the colours that I wanted to use and they were Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa, I also used the stamp set Live your Dream.  I had some canvas fabric in my odds and sods bin so I cut some flowers out of the fabric and stiffened the edges of the petal with crystal effects.  Whilst that was drying I painted my canvas with brown reinker and gesso.  I then stuck the book page to the canvas.  When it was dry I took some sellotape and stuck lightly and pulled it off gently so that only the top surface came off.

I stamped around the edges of the canvas with the small flower stamp to add some interest.  Now that the flowers are dry I could colour around the edges and went over them with the very vintage wheel to give some interest to them.  I stuck 4 or 5 together and then stuck them to the canvas.  To finish them off I stuck some buttons in the middle of the flowers.

I hope you like and until next time

Perfect Pair Number 3

Hi Guys

Well I hope you are enjoying the current promotion from SU! I certainly am and today I have another selection for you.

This is using the Simply Said and the Full Heart punch. I have chosen to not use red as would normally be used with a heart set.

The card on the left is made using Bordering Blue. I have done the two step stamp with the heart stamp. The ribbon is bashful blue taffeta ribbon and the wide ribbon is whisper white satin ribbon that I have died using Bordering Blue (the photo makes it look a lot darker). The flower stamp on the background is the small flower that I have pulled the colour in using a blender pen.

The middle card has been stamped with the large flower in Ballet Blue (I have stamped in full colour and then stamped again without reinking. I have put a strip of Ballet Blue to mat on the card and a piece of Very Vanilla that has been punched on either side with the Eyelet Border Punch. The ribbon down the middle of this strip is 1 1/4" white grosgrain ribbon dyed with the Ballet Blue ink. I have used the Full Heart Punch on the bottom of the Matted layer. I have used the bumps at the top of the heart as the border at the bottom. The three faux brads are punched from Very Vanilla and accented with Crystal Effects.

The last card has been stamped in versamark and I have then brayered the Ballet Blue over the top. I have matted Ballet Blue card with Satin Ribbon with a bit of Bashful Blue tied at the end of it.

I hope you like these and until next time.

For a Challenge

Hi Guys

I have been busy over the last couple of days with sorting dates out for me to teach at Carols Crafts in Spalding. Check my diary on the left hand side to see when I am teaching and what I am teaching.

I have also managed to do something for a challenge.

The challenge is Hels' challenge here. I got a bit confused and thought this had to be an ATC (the other challenge I took part in is just ATC's)

Hels' challenge is All You Need Is Love and I did this for it.

It is a mini Stepper Card at the size of an ATC.

On the left hand side I have inked a strip of book page with Real Red ink. On the right hand side I have stamped with En Francais in Real Red after stamping off. I have then used a sponge and sponged with Real Red. I have stamped En Francais in Basic Grey and then punched with the Heart to Heart punch. I then stuck them onto the card and trimmed off. I used crystal effects to give them a bit of depth. I have stamped the birds firstly in basic grey on the card and then in Real Red on another piece of card and coloured them in with Blender Pen (left hand side just by pulling the colour in from the stamped image and right hand side by using the ink pad as a pallette. The large stamp at the back is stamped in Real Red, coloured with Blender Pen and then sponged around the edge.

I hope you like

Until next time, happy crafting

Time ...

... Have you got enough to go look at the wonderful creations at Tuesday Taggers.

Hi Guys

Time for another challenge at Tuesday Taggers and this week the theme is Time. I did wonder what I would do for this but then I remembered I had the 'Sense Of Time' stamp set from Stampin' Up!

I have done something a little bit different for me this week. I have used metal.

Firstly stamp onto metal with Staz-On (you need a permanent ink so it doesn't rub off) and go round the outline of both the full face and also the smaller face at the bottom of the clock. Turn the metal over and place on a soft surface (an old mouse mat will do or a magazine) and start going round in a circular motion with an embossing stylus and the metal will start stretching and you will end up with a 3d part to your clock. I have the filled the recess with crystal effects just so it doesn't get squashed. I did the same for the cogs on the left hand side of the piece.

The card has been inked with Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip inks for SU! I inked the whole of the card with Creamy Caramel first. I then went with Close to Cocoa and didn't quite cover the whole of the card leaving the middle bit out. The last colour Chocolate Chip just around the edges. Using the cog stamp I stamped randomly over the piece. I then stuck the two metal pieces on (when the Crystal Effects was dry) and then stamped the quote stamp in a couple of places.

Well guys that is it for now, don't forget to go and check out the rest of the gang at Tuesday Taggers.

Until next time happy crafting

Tuesday Taggers - Christmas Carol

Hi Guys

Well when I first saw this challenge title I wondered what on earth I could do for this. In the end though it took my hubby to convince me of what to do. He didn't do this by telling me what to make or what carol to choose, he did it by just being his lovable self. He is one that believes that Christmas should start on 24th December and end on 26th December. With this in mind here is my piece of work for this weeks challenge. I didn't choose a traditional Christmas carol like Janet did, or go with a picture of carolers singing, no instead I went with Charles Dickens 'A Christmas Carol' and Bah Humbug.

I have used, (believe it or not), Real Red ink and Old Olive ink and coloured the card with sponges. I have then used water and flicked it on to the card stock to achieve the faux bleach effect. Unfortunately I don't have a stamp set small enough to do the text so I cut this out on my machine. The holly leaves are cut out by hand, as are the berries. The berries have been made by punching into Real Red cardstock with the crop-o-dile. I have finished off the berries and letters with Crystal Effects.

Well until my next post happy crafting.
