Blog Hop - well more of a marathon!!

Hi Guys

I promised you some projects from the mini catalogue and projects I will show.

Firstly though you should have come here from Zoë and from here you will go on to Bridgette.  There are four hops going on this morning so that you didn't get bored and here are the links to the start of all 4.

Group One
Group Two
Group Three
Group Four

And finally here are my projects.

My first one is a sewing box that I constructed last week and it works 'sew' well with the Sew Lovely stamp set.  I didn't use the papers with it as I went for a more vintage look.

The box is a papier mache blank that has been gessoed and painted with a duckegg blue paint from B&Q.  I have distressed the edges with Soft Suede ink to make it look worn.  I stamped the En Francais stamp onto tissue paper and added it with watered down pva glue.

I stamped and cut out the cotton reels and wound thread around them to make them look more real.  The left hand one has Linen Thread wrapped around it.  If you look closely on the box you will also see elements of the Sew Lovely stamps overstamped.

these were stamped onto Crumb Cake card stock and I have elongated the stand on the left hand tailors dummy with a bit of masking.  I have then stamped onto the Springtime Vintage papers and paper pieced them.  The tape measure was stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock in Soft Suede and then distressed with Soft Suede.  Once it was dry I crumpled it up to make it look like it had been used and then applied Crystal Effects to it to give it the shiny look.

The flowers on the box were done using several methods.  The blue one on the right hand side and front of the box are ribbon roses.  I used Whisper White satin ribbon that I edged with Bashful Blue ink.  I then punched out a 1 3/4" circle and added sticky strip to it and wound the ribbon round starting from the outside edge and working into the middle.  To hide the middle I made a small 'rose' from a 1 3/4" circle that I cut into a spiral and then twisted and stuck together.  To the top I added some of the delicious glass glitter (new).  Now people who know me will know how much I hate using glitter because it gets every where, well this fabulous stuff doesn't.  You pour it onto your project and then pour it back into the pot and ALL of it goes back into the jar.

My second flower was made using the Fun Flowers Bigz L die exclusive to Stampin' Up! I cut two of the largest flower and one each of the other two sizes.  I stamped them with Bashful Blue ink and the En Francais background stamp and I edged with Soft Suede.  I then used my bone folder to manipulate the flowers and get them to curl and stuck them together with tombow.  I used Crystal Effects to make the dew droplets on the flower.

To finish the box off I made some embellishments to go inside the box.  On the same set of stamps is a button card, so I stamped several onto Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake and distressed them.  I then made some buttons from shrink plastic (stamped with Pocket Silhouettes) and also from the Exclusive Button Embosslit die and sewed them on the cards and then put them in my box.

______________________________

Now my second project is using one of the other exclusive dies to Stampin' Up!  I have used the Milk Carton Bigz L Die.

I cut it out of Very Vanilla and added papers from the Springtime Vintage papers that have been daubed with Rose Red ink.  I made a little pennant from Very Vanilla and stamped with Thank You Kindly and again edged with Rose Red ink.

I punched out one of the flowers from the paper using a new punch.  We have the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and there is a small circle 3/8".  I edged it in Rose Red ink and then added one of the smallest pearls.  I finished the carton with one of the clips from the Clips Assortment.

My final project is also using the Milk carton die.  I have cut two out and cut one panel off each one and then stuck them together.  I have stuck the bottom together to form a hexagonal shape.

The lid again is two die cuts with one of the panels cut from each and stuck together.  If you push the 'spout' inwards it will form this shape which I adhered with a bit of tombow to keep it together.  I have decorated it with papers from the Springtime Vintage set and some Crumb Cake Seam Binding ribbon.  To top it off I have threaded some Seam Binding through one of the Springtime Vintage Big Designer Buttons (Pear Pizzazz) and stuck it down to cover the centre of the lid.

Now all you need to do is hop over to Bridgette and continue on with the hop.

Until next time I hope you enjoy

happy crafting

Emma xx

  32. In Play Bazar marketing, you're often rewarded for binging on more people. But if those people leave
satta king after a few short weeks, you've got nothing to show for all that recruiting effort. Instead, act as a mentor to your recruits. Show them the ropes and help them out. They'll be more likely to stick around.
