Wings

Hi Guys

I am two days late for Try It On Tuesdays but my teamies have been great and let me off.  The theme this week is an altered item with wings.  I know I have done one of these mirrors before, however I LOVE doing them and will be teaching how to do them very soon so keep an eye out.

This was decorated firstly by gessoing (priming) the wood and then inking it.  I used Rose Red ink.  The panels are Whisper White mounted onto cereal box to build them up.  I have used the stamp set Printed Petals to make the roses.  Now alot of people do these with grunge paper but I used good old Whisper White and it keeps it shape and form.  The leaves have been done by cutting a leaf shape out of River Rock card stock and folding it in half and putting it through my paper crimper and then inking with River Rock ink on the edges and over the ridges with a paper dauber.  I have painted Crystal Effects over the roses to give them some gloss.

The butterflies, which is where my wings come in, have been stamped using Flight of The Butterfly stamp set and punching with coordinating Butterfly Punch.  Layered up one on top of another and then painted with Crystal Effects again.  To finish them off I have added 3 basic Rhinestones.

I have added Basic Rhinestones to some of the panels as well to give them some bling.  Come back and check soon for the date of the class.

I hope you like and don' forget to go and have a look at my Teamies' work over on Try It On Tuesday.

Until next time happy crafting
