The Stockings are hung...

Hi Guys

Well we are still on the Christmas theme over at Tuesday Taggers and this week is 'the stockings are hung', I only have one stamp that is a stocking.  So I tried to draw a stocking, and failed dismally.  Then my darling hubby said well couldn't you do a fireplace with the stockings hung on it????  I looked at him and said hold that thought and went to the drawing board (so to speak).

Here is what I came up with.

It had to be an easel card so that I could emulate a wall and floor.  The 'wall paper' and 'flooring are from the elegant soiree paper pack, it is a stunning paper set.  The bricks for the fireplace are cut from Soft Suede and stuck onto Very Vanilla, when they were stuck I went over them with Riding Hood Red chalk to give them the reddy tinge.  The grate is cut from Very Vanilla that has been painted with Platinum shimmer paint. and put a piece of Basic Black behind.  The flames have been made with the body of the Two Step XL Bird Punch out of Daffodil Delight and placing one on top of the other and chalked again with Riding Hood Red to get the flame effect.  The mantle was made from Early Espresso and I have drawn on woodgrain in Early Espresso Stampin' marker.

I stamped out the stockings from Sparkly and Bright in Cherry Cobbler, cut out and stuck onto the mantle.  Using the Tiny Tags set I stamped the wreath in Garden Green.  The candles have come from Big Bold Birthday stamped in Real Red and Daffodil Delight.

To add the final bit of Christmas I have taken two of the strings of pearls and swagged them along the fireplace.

To finish the card I added a greeting from Perfect Punches and stamped in Baja Breeze onto Very Vanilla and punched using the Scallop Circle punch and the 1 3/8" punch.
Well I hope you like and until next time
Happy Crafting
