Scraplings

Hi Guys

What?  I hear you shout.  That is exactly what I shouted when read what this weeks challenge is on Try It On Tuesdays was.

Well a scrapling, I have found out, is a card that is 1 1/4" x 4 1/4".  We get them when we cut an A6 card down to make a square card, the card that is left over is a 'Scrapling'!!!

I have made mine from Marina Mist Card that has Very Vanilla mounted on it.  I have used the Clearly For You stamp set out of the mini catalogue.  To get the little flowers on the right hand side of the I punched 6 of the flower punch from the Bitty Punches set and used the point on my bone folder and my foam mat from my mat pack and manipulated them so that they curled up.  I stuck two together and then added a basic rhinestone in each one and adhered them to the scrapling.

Now you need to just go and visit my team members at Try It On Tuesdays and see what goodies they have for you.

I hope you like and until next time

Something for the Boys

Hi Guys

Firstly I need to apologise to Mon as I inadvertently copied her card for my last entry.  I was shown it yesterday at a training meeting and I must have seen it and stored it in my memory so sorry and thank you for the inspiration Monica.

How does a male theme sound for this week on Try It On Tuesdays?  The lovely Yvonne has challenged us to do Something for the Boys this week.

I had a commission to do an anniversary card for somebody and I looked to the catalogue for inspiration this time as she wanted one with a shirt and tie so I chose this one

I used the Neutrals DSP stack, however please don't look for the black and white spotty as there isn't one, the lady wanted black and white so therefore I coloured the grey spots with my white gel pen.  I added a pocket and gave it some detail with my gel pen again.
You can't see it very clearly but I have added a line of gems across the centre of the tie for some bling.  I added bling to the collar.

The sentiment has been done using the basic phrases stamp set and the decorative label punch.

Now you need to go and look at the rest of the DT's work at Try It On Tuesday to see what fab work they have done.

I hope you like and until next time

Congratulations

Hi Guys

Just a quickie today to show you a recent commission for a congratulations on your wedding day.  It is just a very simple card.  I have used Pretty in Pink for my base card and my flowers.  For my mat I have used Crumb Cake and stamped with Versamark using the Just Believe stamp set.  A length of Wide Stripe Grosgrain in Pretty In Pink.

The sentiment is matted onto Early Espresso to match the ribbon roses in the centre of the flowers.  I have added a basic pearl into the middle of each flower and also 3 to the top right hand corner of the card.

I hope you like and until next time

Something Old and Something New

Hi Guys

Well this week on Try It On Tuesdays Cazro (Carol) has challenged us to Something Old and Something New.  This being something in your craft collection that is older than 6 months and something newer than 6 months.

My Old is the stamp set Love You Much which I have had forever, the something new is the shape of the card.  I have used my Top Note die which is exclusive to Stampin' Up! and so versatile.  I folded a piece of Confetti White card stock in half and placed the crease so that I could see the cutting guide and then ran it through my Big Shot.  I ran just one piece of Cherry Cobbler for the top layer and cut off around the perforated detail so that I could have a border.

Stamp the Love You Much onto a 2 1/2" square of Confetti White and colour with your blender pen and colour with Cherry Cobber and Bashful Blue.  Add your flower brad and some ribbon around the card.  This is Marina Mist Seam Binding.  Adhere all your bits to the card and hey presto a lovely card.

I made this for my hubby for putting up with me over the last few weeks getting stressed about all of the fayres that I have done.

So now all you have to do is go and look at my fellow teamies work at Try It On Tuesdays.

I hope you like and until next time
