I went to a demo event at
Sir Stampalot in Peterborough last week which was fantastic. I saw loads of great stuff designed by
Chris and Crafty Lou.
Whilst we were there I asked if
Janice needed any other help in her design team and she gave me a stamp and told me to go away and see what I could do.
Janice gave me a Sarah Kay stamp to use and here is what I did with it. I did three different types of cards. One with Tim Holtz Distress Inks, one with Cosmic Shimmer pigment powders and one with Marvy Le Plume water colour pens.
Card One
This was coloured with distress inks onto water colour paper. The details on her clothes were paper pieced with K & Co Classic K Bailey papers. The buttons are from my stash. I couldn't find a ribbon to match my card (which people who know me will find unbelievable) so I coloured a piece of white grosgrain with the same ink as I distressed the card with.
Card Two
Now this card was fun to do because I got messy (messier than with the distress inks). I used cosmic shimmer powders to paint the image. I did this by mixing some of the powder on my messy mat with water. The orange is powders knocked down with water and spritzed over the card. The swirl is a Magnolia elements stamp which is really versatile. I then dry brushed my powders over the image that had been stamped with versamark ink. I used several colours in different areas to get the multi coloured look.
Card Three
This is using one sheet of Daisy Bucket papers. I have used a white card blank and put a piece of the paper on top after punching the edge with a Martha Stewart punch, Doily Lace. The flowers are punched from the same paper, scored and creased into shape. I have then punched circles and molded them using a foam mat and embossing tool. I water coloured this image with Marvy Le Plume pens.
Card Four
This was a bonus that I took to Janice and Andy. I bought the stamp and I love it. It is the Whipper Snapper Jungle Animals Stamp. Coloured with Distress Inks again. I have only just discovered these as a medium to colour stamps in with and boy I have changed to them for most things. I already used them for distressing and everything else they can be used for. The paper again is Daisy Bucket papers.
Whipper Snapper stamps lend themselves really well to being decoupaged, so I did.
I am delighted to say that Janice approved of my work and gave me another project to work with which will be done over the next couple of days. So keep an eye out for them
Until next time, happy crafting
