Look What I Made At the Weekend

... I went to Claxby at the weekend and we made one of these.

I have used Regal Rose and Rose Red to colour the background.  I have then used the Very Vintage wheel to decorate the mirror.  The small pieces of art are made using En Francais, Vintage Vogue and a rubber band around my brayer to make the swirly lines.  I made the roses by using a 1" punch and fixing 7 together to make a 6 petal flower.  Each flower needed 3 cutouts.  These are made from Whisper white that I have coloured with Regal Rose and Rose Red to give some depth.  The leaves were made from the oval punch cutting one end to a point.  (mirror was £1.19 from IKEA).

One Last Chance.....

.... to get your sticky mits on the Full Heart Punch from SU!. The full heart punch disappears from 12 midnight on Wednesday 31st March. You need this punch because not only does it match 'Simply Said' from the main catalogue, it also matches a set from the new mini catty, 'I {heart} hearts'. I have used a Whisper White Pale Plum and Perfect Plum colourway with Perfect Plum DSP. I have also used Very Vintage wheel for these as well.
For all four cards I have gone down the left hand side with the Very Vintage Wheel.

Card One
Using two of the stamps I have stamped off with Pale Plum onto the background of the card. To join the two sides together I have used Perfect Plum DSP. I have stamped another of the heart stamps onto whisper white in each colour. I have then punched them out with the Full Heart Punch and gone round the edge with a dauber and ink.

Card TwoI have coloured Whisper White Satin Ribbon with Pale Plum and tied knots in it and stuck it to the card. I have then punched the heart out and stamped inside the card. I have drawn freehand around the heart inside. I have then doodled around the edge of the card.

Card Three

I have brayered the righthand side of the card and tied a piece of Whisper White ribbon that has been rollered with the Very Vintage wheel. I have brayered a second piece of card and then punched two hearts out on opposite sides of the card. I have gone round the hearts and doodled around the hearts with the white gel pen.

Card FourA piece of Perfect Plum DSP that has been rollered with Perfect Plum ink to give a tone on tone effect. Doodled around the DSP and card stock. The hearts were stamped in Pale Plum first and then I used the rock and roll method with Perfect Plum and stamped onto Whisper White. I have cut these out by hand and adhered them to the card.

Pouch for Cards

Stamp out the friend heart stamp with Perfect Plum and punch with the Full Heart Punch. Take a piece of 6 1/2" square Perfect Plum DSP and find the centre. Now fold all of the corners to the middle and stick the hearts on so that the dip on the heart meets the point on the DSP.
That is all for now, I hope you like
Until next time, happy crafting

Happy New Year with Black and White

Hi Guys

Have you made any resolutions? I have made two. One is to get my SU! business off the ground and my second is to try my best to post a project every day. (this may not happen when I am on holiday).

Well we are well and truly into the new year (with it being 5th January), I am being asked what I am going to do for Valentines classes, I have had to think about what I am going to do for my regular craft group for the rest of the year, (including Christmas!!).

Here is the first challenge for 2010 with Tuesday Taggers.

The theme is Black and White. I am using the Stampin' Up set Flight of the Butterfly. I have used basic black and whisper white card stock. I have stamped on the white card stock with the dotty outline of the butterfly using basic black ink and punched it out using the Stampin' Up! butterfly punch. I have stamped the flowery butterfly onto black card stock with SU! whisper white craft ink and embossed with white embossing powder. I have used the SAJ to place my sentiment which is also from the Flight of the Butterfly set.

The little butterflies are stamped with basic black ink on whisper white cardstock.

I hope you all like

Until next time happy crafting

Christmas Cards

Hi Guys

Well I hope that everyone has received their cards by now so that I can show them to you. Many of you will find this very hard to believe but Andy, my darling hubby, made the cards with the Christmas trees on. He stamped the image, coloured with prismacolour pencils, added stickles, matted and layered them and then asked me to help him with the ribbon. I am really proud of him and I think that he has done a fab job and secretly (I think that he is a closet crafter and enjoys it really).

The stamp is from Stampin' Up! Fun and Fast notes. Real Red and garden green card stock.

Until next time

Sorry for being a bad blogger

I know that it has been a while since my last post but I have not had internet. I have quite alot to show you as well.

Lets start with Tuesday Taggers. Let it Snow is the last challenge until 2010 as the Design Team have been given a holiday!!! Woo Hoo:).

My take on this is an ATC (I know, I know. It is something that I do rarely) as it suited the stamp set that I used. I have used Stampin' Up! Winter Post. I have used Blush Blossom to stamp the postcard stamp and Do not open sign. To stamp the post mark I have stamped off the stamp first and then placed it on the card. I have sponged around the edge with blush blossom and close to cocoa.

I have stamped the couple in Close to Cocoa and then used the blending pen to pull the colour in to the image.

This has all been done on Very vanilla card stock. I have added dazzling diamonds to the bobbles on the hats and also under the skates. If you look closely you can see a shadow underneath the skates. This is done by stamping your stamp on the smooth side of your imaging sheet (part of your stamp-a-majig) placing it underneath your image and rubbing to transfer the image to your design.

I hope you like

Until next time, happy crafting

Tuesday Taggers - Jolly Old Saint Nick

Hi Guys

Todays challenge on Tuesday Taggers is 'Jolly Old Saint Nick'. The girls on the DT have done a fabulous job again and there are some lovely examples and very varied again. Our guest designer Suzanne has surpassed herself, even though she says that she was very nervous about doing this.

My entry is some punch art. They are boxes of Lindt chocolates that are for spot prizes at my clubs Christmas Social tonight. I have made them in to Santa by using what seemed like hundreds of punches. Seriously though it did take 9 seperate punches to make these. They go like this (all SU! punches)

1 3/4" Circle = head (Blush Blossom)
Small Tag = Hat (Real Red)
1/2" Circle = nose (Blush Blossom)
Boho Blossoms = Pompom (Whisper White)
Scallop Oval = Beard (Whisper White)
1/4" Circle = Eyes (Whisper White)
Scallop Circle = Hair (Whisper White)
1/8" Circle = Eyes (Black)
Scallop Edge = Trim on hat (Whisper White)

His cheeks have been coloured with Stampin' Pastels. His coat is made from a Real Red rectangle with the top corners clipped, a strip of black for his belt and some gold for his belt buckle.

I hope this makes sense to you and you have a go at doing them. If you do, please let me know so that I can come and have a look.

Until next time

Tuesday Taggers - Festival of light

Hi Guys

Over at Tuesday Taggers this week the challenge is the festival of light. With last weeks post about punch art, I have used my punches on this one again.

I have used four rectangles of whisper white card stock. At the top of 2 of the rectangles I have used the large oval punch on its side and punched just less than half away. I have used mellow moss ink to highlight the candles to give them some depth and then stuck that layer onto the other rectangles. The flames are also cut with the oval punch and then shaped to give them the appearance of a flame. I have reverse masked the flame (cutting the shape of the flame out on post it note and the cutting the middle bit out and using ruby red ink to colour it in with a dauber). The border has been cut using the Eyelet border punch. I have matted and layered with Spiced Cider DSP. The pattern on the candle and the sign have come from the 'Spotlight On Christmas' stamp set from SU!

I hope you like.

Until next time happy crafting

Tuesday Taggers - Red, Gold and Green

Hi Guys

This week on Tuesday Taggers we have been challenged to use Red, Green and Gold, we were then told that we could make it Christmassy or not. I thought about making my entry so that it was not Christmassy but it didn't happen.

I am doing punchart with my class this evening so I made something to go with the theme.

Everything I used to make this card is from Stampin' Up! The card stock is Old Olive, Whisper White, Real Red. I have used the stamp set Wondrous Gift, Whisper White grosgrain ribbon and Scallop circle punch.

I punched 5 times from Old olive card stock and cut them into quarters. I have then placed them to look like a tree and then matted and layered it.

I hope you like and until next time
