Another Birthday

Hi Guys

Yesterday was my nieces 10th Birthday.  I cannot believe that she 10 already, she is growing up so fast.

She is changing what she likes and is into almost daily so it was hard to come up with something for the card I made for her.

I made her an owl from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock using the Scallop Circle and Topnote dies for the Bigshot.  I have used the retired 3 heart punch and retired SAB stamp set from last year for the greeting.

Other punches used are the 13/4", 13/8" and 1" circle punches for the eyes, the Curly Label punch for the greeting and the 13/4" Scallop circle punch for the chest.

She loved the card as I hoped she would.  Now I just need to think what I am going to make her for next year!!

I am having a day crafting tomorrow and I am going to be using some of my new product from the Spring/Summer Supplement and some of the fabulous offerings from the SAB brochure from this year, you will love them all they are fab.

Until next time

Talking Tags

Hi Guys

Stampin' Up! have launched a new product line

With Talking Tag, you can send a gift that is uniquely you. Talking Tag is a message label you can attach to cards, invitations, gifts . . . anything! Personalise birthday cards, gifts or even record quick instructions for a recipe. Now your pictures really can say a thousand words!

How to send a voice message:
  1. Download the FREE TalkingTag™ App on you smartphone from talkingtag.mobi, iTunes® or Google Play™.
  2. Adhere the message tag to your card or gift.
  3. Open TalkingTag™ App and scan the code.
  4. Record your message (recording starts immediately, so make sure you’re ready!).
You will have the opportunity to listen, re-record, cancel, or confirm your message after you’ve completed recording it. Each label allows up to 60 seconds of a greeting, song, or product message.
To play the message, recipients will need to download the app and scan the code.  Messages are saved for two years, so they can listen to it over and over.

How to Buy Talking Tags:
Buy ‘em by the sheet! You get 10 tags for just 9.50 €/£7.25 (item 129723).

Helpful Tips:
  • Adhere Talking Tag to a flat surface, otherwise the scanner can’t read the code.
  • Multiple tags can be attached to one surface, but don’t place them too close together. When scanning a message, you shouldn’t be able to see another code on the screen.
  • Do not write or place any decoration over the label.
  • Talking Tag has a permanent adhesive and cannot be repositioned once attached to a surface. Attempting to remove it could tear the label, making it impossible to listen to the content.
  • A Talking Tag message label can only hold one message. Once a message is confirmed, it cannot be deleted or re-recorded.

So if you want to buy any then you can email me emmadaye@sky.com or call me 07793972024 (or text me) and I will order some for you.

Until next time

Happy New Year to you all

Hi Guys

Happy New Year to you all.

I have had a little time off whilst I found my mojo.  I managed to find it just before Christmas but was then busy with fairs and commissions for people.

I will show you some of the stuff that I did before Christmas now and will come back with some non Christmassy stuff really soon.

This is a banner that has been made using the Scallop Circle Bigz Die, a rosette made using my Simply Scored Board, The Ornament punch and a retired alphabet die

Now the inspiration for these came from Becky Roberts over at Inking Idaho.  They are battery operated tealights that I got from fleabay.

I made these a couple of years ago as my 3D swap at the SU! Convention in UK at Addington Palace.  I have changed them up a bit by using the Champagne glimmer paper from the seasonal catty and the Sweater Trim also from the seasonal catty.

I saw these on the internet last year but could not get hold of the skinny bags anywhere, but this year we now have them in our main Catalogue, so I could make them.  I don't remember where I saw them first but if anyone knows who the original make of these is then let me know so I can credit them.

Again I don't remember where I saw these but thought they were super cute and had to make them.  Both these and the legs sold extremely well but do take a little while to make.

This is a piccy of my table set up and ready to go at one of my fairs.

I look forward to reading your comments and visiting you to see what you have done.

Until next time

Woohoo New Catty

Hi Guys

Well today sees the launch of our new annual catty and what a fab catty it is.  We are now in line with the USA and have nearly all of the products that they do (with tthe exception of My Digital Studio and personalised stamps).

To mark this day a few demonstrators are having a blog hop and you should have come here from the fabulous Lynn's Blog and will go on from here the also fabulous Elaines blog.

Well here are my creations for the blog hop

My first is a card which uses from the Autum/Winter Catalogue, Scentsational Season Stamp set and dies which come as a bundle and save you 15% off the individual prices, what a bargain!!  I have also used one of the new in colours which is Gumball Green and teamed this up with Cherry Cobbler.  I have used Teeny Tiny Wishes for the greeting and the bow is another new product which is the Sweater Trim in Gumball Green.  It also comes in Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White.

My second is a mini accordian matchbook in Cherry Cobbler.  I have trimmed it with the Christmas paper from the Main Catty called Be Of Good Cheer.  I have used the new Gumball Green Stitched Satin ribbon with a Designer Ribbon Slide.  I have then wrapped it up with some of the super gorgeous, super soft Scalloped Tulle Ribbon in Cherry Cobbler.

If you want to start from the beginning then you need to go to Laura's blog.

I hope you like and you have fun on the hop looking at all of the fabulous products and samples produced for you.

Until next time happy crafting

A wedding in the air

Hi Guys

Well this is the first of many to come and I hope you like it.  I was commissioned to do a wedding card and here are the fruits of my labour

They wanted it all in cream so I had to make it pop out and did this by adding texture with embossing folders and the flowers.  I spritzed the flowers with the champagne mist shimmer paint.  I also edged the main mats with the platinum shimmer paint.  To add some chic bling I have used basic pearls.

I hope you like and until next time

Hi Guys

Last weekend saw the first Stampin' Up! retreat held by myself and Janet (a very good friend and fellow SU! Demonstrator) in the sunny climes of North Yorkshire.

We had a lovely mix of crafters come and join us for the weekend and some day delegates joined us on the Saturday for a lot of fun and laughter.

Here is the motley crew at the end of the weekend

and here are some of the projects that we made over the weekend.  We made a couple of handbags one of which came from my good friend Victoria and we covered jars and notebooks amongst other things over the weekend.

but over all a good time was had by all and you can tell that by the me that was made

Well we have decided that we are going to do it all again next year and I hope we will have you join us next time.

Until next time

Hi Guys

Well I just want to say thank you for all of your kind thoughts and well wishes with regard to my recent operation.

As some of you know I have been waiting for ages to have a gastric bypass done and finally I have had it done.  After my op I was quite poorly and quite weak but I am getting back on top of things and getting there slowly.

Once again thank you for all of your kind thoughts and you will see some crafting projects here soon.

Until next time

Apologies

Hi guys

Emma has asked me to post for her and apologise for her not posting in the last few weeks.  She has had a major operation and is feeling not very well at all.  All her classes have had to be cancelled as well so she is doing no crafting at the moment.  However, hopefully she will be feeling better soon and will be up to crafting again.  Again sorry to all her followers for the lack of posts.

Thank you for your patience,

Louise ( Emma's mum)

Fly away Butterfly

Hi Guys

I have seen this project in several places across the net, I think the first place was on Fiona Duthies blog and have wanted to have ago at it for ages.

Finding the right canvas and voila here it is

I stuck to one colour family (subtles) and used baja breeze, perfect plum, regal rose, pretty in pink, so saffron and certainly celery with a smattering of pearls.  I used a mix of butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies die and Beautiful Wings embosslit from the main catalogue.

I hope you like and until next time

I have used the Easter Blossoms stamp set and added basic Rhinestones to give it some bling.  For the greeting I have used the hostess set Happiest Birthday Wishes for the greeting.

Long time no see...

Hi Guys

well I am sorry for my absence but my mojo went on holiday.

Monday saw my regular class and this week we did some stamping on candles.

To do this you need to do the following

1.  Take some tissue paper cream or white works on the cream candles I used, I used white.
2.  Colour your stamp and then stamp onto the tissue paper
3.  Cut around the image as close to the image as you can
4.  Place your image on your candle, use some snail to hold it in position if you need to
5.  Using some wax paper/greaseproof paper, wrap it around your image on your candle and keep taut
6.  Heat with your heat gun until you see your tissue paper 'melt' into your candle
7.  Before taking your greaseproof paper off, smooth your hand over the image to ensure it is as      smooth as possible
8.  If giving as a gift wrap in cellophane and tie with a ribbon and pretty up

To do the one below you stamp your image using versamark and add embossing powder, shake off excess.  Heat with heat gun.  Now continue from number 3 above and finish your candle.

I hope you like and until next time

A little something...

Hi Guys

not a crafty post as such but on a forum that I frequent called In Love With Stamping
a lovely lady called Elaine (Sassystamper) posted this and how true it is

Papercrafting Rules of Acquisition – Rules to Live By

1. You want it, therefore you need it.

2. You need it, therefore you must buy it.

3. All other things you need including food, car insurance, and lunch money are incidental in comparison to what you need for Papercrafting.

4. “You can’t take it with you” applies only to money. Begin getting your loved ones accustomed to the fact that you intend to be buried with your scrapbooks.

5. If you think there is a ghost of a chance that you might use it in a future project, buy it now, because if you need it later, there won’t be a substitute.

6. A Papercrafter must purchase appropriate storage containers, shelves, bins, units, etc. all for scrapbook-related purchases.

7. A Papercrafter has the right and responsibility to discard all previously purchased storage systems in order to purchase a new more appropriate system at any time.

8. Papercrafting is an inexpensive hobby. This can be proved by applying “Blondes Logic” to your purchases. For example, no hobby where the supplies usually cost under £100.00 can possibly be as expensive as big-ticket male hobbies such as restoring vintage cars, radio controlled planes etc. This just makes sense.

9. Papercrafting actually saves money. Papercrafting promotes do-it-yourself philosophy. By applying “Blondes Logic”, you can conclude you can’t afford not to papercraft.

10. Papercrafting makes you happy. If you are happy, then the home is happy.

There you have it it's like the 10 commanments of Papercrafting. Now to inscribe this onto some Chipboard, embellish, make pretty and teach it to those that have not yet taken the path to Papercrafting!

I hope you enjoy and will carry forth this mantra and don't forget to go over and visit ILWS to get inspiration.

Until next time, happy crafting

Pennant Builder Punch

Hi Guys

Well Saturday saw the first all day class of 2012 and we based it on using the Pennant Builder punch and what you can do with it.

I have used inspiration from around the internet for some of my cards.  As you can see the punch can be used for lots of different styles and we made sure we put it to good use.  We had a great day and lots of fun was had.

I think my favourite projects are the Harlequin and Kite cards.

My next class will be in March and we will be using the Cupcake Builder punch.  If you want to come then email me to let me know and I will book you on the class.

I hope you like and until next time
